This beach is identified by its location as it is well protected from the sea action. Two breakwaters and a man-made bar were placed there for that purpose.

Another hallmark is its pink sand, different from most beaches in these volcanic islands, full of the charm coming from a natural environment in some cases and man’s creative work in others.

Bathers are at their ease when they get into the water due to the calmness of this man-made beach’s swell. It was largely expanded in 1973 when approximately four million sacks of sand from the former Spanish province of Sahara were brought here.

With a little more than one kilometre long, many dare say that Las Teresitas is one of the best beach areas in Tenerife; others say that it is at least the most popular of all.
